Kelly Sheehan (she/her)
Co-Executive Director
Kelly Sheehan is the co-executive director, programs and policy, of Initiative for Energy Justice. She has twenty-five years of experience in the environmental movement, bringing vision, strategy, and policy expertise to address the climate crisis and advance an equity-centered transition to clean energy. Prior to joining IEJ, she founded EcoKey Partners to provide leadership and executive capacity for environmental and social change organizations, served as the Senior Director of Energy Campaigns at the Sierra Club, and worked for the U.S. House of Representatives as a grants director and policy advisor. Throughout her career, Kelly has built partnerships and delivered results as an organizer, director, fundraiser, spokesperson and mentor. She’s been featured on BBC News, the New York Times, NPR, Politico and named Best Environmentalist by Blue Ridge Outdoors magazine.
Kelly lives with her family in Asheville, NC and spends her free time in the forests, rivers, and lakes of Southern Appalachia.
